Janice V. (Kinna) Hicks

Janice “Jan” Hicks, née Kinna passed away on October 19, 2023 at the age of 91. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Nordstrom of Weldon Spring, MO and her son, Jerry (Colleen) Hicks of High Ridge, MO, one brother-in-law, Richard Smith of Frederick, MD, three nieces, one nephew, also of Frederick, MD, and Bob’s children Lynn (Joseph) Ranweiler of Warminster, PA, Robert W (Renae) Hicks, Jr. of Oswego, MN, and George (Lisa) Hicks of North Branch, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Hicks, her father, Atlee Kinna and her mother, Gladys Kinna née Dixon, and two sisters.

Janice was born and raised on a farm in Frederick, MD. At the age of 22 her love of travel took her to airline stewardess school in Minneapolis, MN. She became the first stewardess (flight attendant) for North Central Airlines for 10 years. She married her husband of 61 years on December 28, 1960. After her airline career, she and Bob continued their love of travel eventually traveling to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. She even took a trip with her mother to Cuba in the early 1950’s. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
