Janice G. Leinger passed away on January 23, 2026 at the age of 72. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Prince; sisters, Carol Baughn and Gail (A. James) Proffitt; sister-in-law, Gail Leinger; three grandchildren, Christopher (Justice) Prince, Jessi Prince, Hailey Prince; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Piper; three nieces and nephews, Jason (Sherry) Boehme, Victor Leinger, Heather Leahy; great niece, Jaclyn; loving great special aunt to, Melissa, Amber, Taylor, Carter, Knox, Hudsyn, and Scottie Jo; and dog mom to Gracie.She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Leinger, mother, Dolores (Peitzmeier) Leinger, brother, Gary Leinger, brother-in-law, Dennis Baughn.
Janice was a devoted Harley enthusiast, who embraced the thrill of the open road. She found quiet joy working puzzles and playing board games. An avid baker, she generously shared homemade treats with family and friends. Janice was a huge fan of John Wayne, holding an extensive collection of John Wayne movies and collectibles. She was proud to serve as a union shop steward, she was deeply committed to fairness, solidarity, and standing up for others. In later years, she developed a strong passion for genealogy, spending countless hours uncovering family history and preserving stories for future generations. Her curiosity, integrity, and warmth will be deeply missed.
