Janice Bernice Woody-Shilt Obituary

Janice Bernice Woody-Shilt, age 79, of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on September 11, 2025. She was born on December 2, 1945, in Arkansas, the daughter of Ervin and Edith Woody.


Janice was married to her beloved husband, Eldon “Russ” Shilt, for 61 years. They were united in marriage on June 3, 1964, in Wentzville, Missouri. She dedicated many years of service as a Volunteer Coordinator at Wentzville Hospital, where she touched many lives with her kindness and care.


Janice is survived by her husband, Eldon "Russ" Shilt; her children, Jeffrey (Anne) Shilt and Julie (Sean) McIntosh; her sister, Vernice Freymuth; her sister-in-law, Patricia (Eugene) Trussell; nieces and nephews, Russell Freymuth, Pam Christopher, Brett and Eric Woody, Carmen Lashley, Leigha Williams, Jason and Nathan Trussell. She was a proud grandmother to Lily McIntosh and Russell Shilt.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Edith Woody; and her brothers, Charles and Allen Woody, and nephew, Roger Woody.


Janice will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to others, and deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed.
