Jarold "Jerry" Leonard Obituary

Fortified by the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, Jarold “Jerry” Leonard was surrounded by his family when he passed into eternity to with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 7, 2021 at the age of 83 years. A loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris (Gerst) Leonard, his five children: Steve (his wife Becky), Bill (his wife Lisa), Marlene (her husband Mike), Doug (his wife Tina), and Paul (his wife Tonya), 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. A carpenter by trade, he was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Wentzville and the Knights of Columbus. His proudest work of achievement was to supervise the building of the current St. Patrick’s Church. A simple, quiet man of few words but great action, he was a well-respected member if the community. He spent his later years travelling and celebrating life with family and friends. He loved all things John Wayne and travelled to Monument Valley, where many of his movies were filmed, to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary.

In lieu of flowers, the families ask that you please make donations payable to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry; in care of Pitman Funeral Home, PO Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.
