Jerry Wilmes of Josephville, Missouri, passed away on July 6, 2026, at the age of 89. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paulette Wilmes (née: Kersting) of Wentzville, Missouri; six children, Daryl Wilmes of Moscow Mills, MO, Marcia (Kevin) Lambert of Wentzville, MO, Michael (Carol) Wilmes of Moscow Mills, MO, Brian Wilmes of Foristell, MO, Aaron (Teresa) Wilmes of Wentzville, MO, Rebbecca (Nicholas) Meyer of Troy, MO; five brothers, Harry Wilmes, Raymond (Rita) Wilmes, Donald (JoAnn) Wilmes, Lester (Kathy) Wilmes, Earl (Barbara) Wilmes of Wentzville, MO; two sisters, Janet Giesmann, and Lucille Heppermann; grandchildren, Sean Wilmes, Anthony (April) Wilmes, Austin (Brittany) Lambert, Ryan (Danielle) Wilmes, Jason Wilmes, Adam (Marley) Wilmes, Emma Wilmes, Anna Wilmes, Faith Meyer and Daniel Meyer; great grandchildren, Colby, Henley, Foster, Turner, Audrey, and Abel Wilmes; He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Wilmes, mother, Clara Wilmes (née: Albers), brother, Jim Wilmes, sister-in-law, Patsy Wilmes, sister-in-law, Marie Wilmes, brother-in-law, Roy Giesmann, and brother-in-law, Rich Heppermann.  

Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Paulette, in November 1963. Together they shared a lifetime of love and devotion and were blessed with six children.

Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the United States National Guard for six years. A lifelong lover of baseball, he played first base for the Josephville Hard Road Team and remained active in the sport throughout the years. He managed and coached Khoury League baseball teams, umpired countless baseball and softball games, and was a dedicated wiffle ball manager. Whether on the field or in the stands cheering on his children, Jerry's love for the game was evident to all who knew him.

Jerry worked as a drywall hanger for many years before retiring at the age of 62 from Wilmes Drywall. Outside of work, he spent more than 30 years operating his own greenhouse, where he lovingly raised vegetable plants and beautiful flowers. He took great pride in his greenhouse and garden

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed 1,000-piece puzzles, playing KWRE Bingo, and listening to classic country music. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and attending his children's baseball and softball games. Above all else, Jerry treasured his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him endless happiness, and he loved each of them deeply.

Jerry was a faithful member of St. Josephville Catholic Church. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, his dedication to his community, and the kindness he shared with everyone he met.

Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
