Jimmie Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Jimmie married his cherished wife, Julia, in 1959. Their unwavering bond and mutual devotion were the cornerstone of their life together, and from this union, they welcomed two wonderful children, Jimmie Jr. and Jeri. Jimmie's professional life was marked by his role as a United States Postal Carrier, from which he retired at the age of 55. However, it was his passion for boxing that truly defined him. For over 60 years, Jimmie poured his heart into the sport, not just as a boxer himself but also as a coach, promoter, manager, and trainer. His impact extended far beyond the ring, as he inspired and shaped the lives of countless individuals through his dedication to the sport. In addition to his professional pursuits, Jimmie found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially at their farm in Southeast Missouri. There, he embraced the outdoors, whether it was working on his tractor, fishing, caring for his cattle and baling hay, a role that earned him the nickname "Big Baler." He spent many summer days go-kart racing with his son, while winter brought the joy of attending horse shows with his daughter. Above all, Jimmie cherished the time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild. His warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
