JoAnn Nichols, 78, passed away on April 2, 2026. JoAnn was the beloved wife of 55 years to Wilton “Nick” Nichols, and together they raised eight children.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was the family she nurtured and cherished.
Family was everything to JoAnn. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit that could brighten any room. She took pride in her appearance, always enjoying having her nails done—especially in her favorite bright red—and had a love for fashion and shopping that reflected her vibrant personality.
She is survived by her five daughters, Denise (Dave) Halbert, Danielle (Michael) Lifritz, Erika (William) Nichols, Lisa (John) Woelfer, Jennifer (Shane) Darby; two step-sons, Christopher "Shawn" (Shaun) Wagner and Eric "Scott" (Dana) Wagner; son-in-law, Charlie Dillingham; sister-in-law, Kay Abram; sister, Karen Abram-Wilfong; 21 grandchildren, Layla, Alyssa, Ella, Sophia, Ava, Jacob, Elizabeth, Michael, Devin, Dustin, Danielle, Hailey, Nicole, Hayley, Riley, Blake, Julian, Adeline, Nate, Riley, and Justin; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roy T. Abram, mother, Lelia F. (Huitt) Nichols, daughter, Tracy Dillingham, brothers, Bill Abram, Ewing and wife, Barb Abram, Bob and wife, Carol Abram, sister, Francis Maxwell, and husband, Cliff, Jessie Abram who died in infancy; and granddaughter, Baby Danielle.
She will be dearly missed, but the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
