John Earnest Carter passed away on July 9, 2026. He turned 72 on July 6, 2026. John was born in Los Angeles, California on July 6, 1954. He was raised by his mother, Barbara Jean (Smith) Glover. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann (Wells) Carter: twins Michael Anthony Huff, wife Angie, grandchildren Cidney (promised to Bryan Christopher) Chance and great grandchild Reese, Tracey Lynn (Huff) Wilkening and husband Eric and grand-dogs Simon and Thor. He is preceded in death by his mother Barbara Glover and a beloved aunt, Marjorie Smith.


John enjoyed cooking so much and even catered for several friends’ and family’s wedding receptions.


He will be remembered for his quick and sarcastic humor and the ability to make those around him smile. He was a loving father who enjoyed having his family around him, all who have many cherished memories to share! His love for animals almost challenged his love for family. John also loved anything related to Star Wars & Star Trek.


John had a long successful Information Technology career. One that started in St louis while attending Valley Park Junior College, and later employed by several large corporations in Missouri, California, and Colorado.
