John Daniel Hubbell, known by family and friends as “Dan”, passed away peacefully in his home on November 11, which was his 89th birthday. Dan was born on November 11,1936 in Normal, Illinois to his late parents, John Albert and Irene (nee: Crawley) Hubbell. Loving husband to Cindy Hubbell. Father to Victoria (Hubbell) Tucker, Matthew Hubbell, Hilary Hubbell and stepfather to Daniel Jolliff and Becky (Jolliff) Woodham. Grandfather to 14: Christopher, Hannah, Kelsey, Seth, Michael, Amber, Candance, Kaylee, Gracie, Mason, Easton, Braven, Drake, and Reid. Great Grandfather to Azalea, Wilder, and Reina.
Dan was a devoted Christian man who loved the Lord and left a legacy of faith, service and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ. His passion was to study God’s Word and was known by many as a Bible scholar. He lived his faith all the way to the end and now rests securely in the arms of Jesus in his permanent Heavenly home.
A proud veteran, Dan served in the United States Air Force working as a Chinese linguist. Following his service, he moved to the New England area where he began his career in computer technology and sales. He moved to the St Louis area in 1990 where he met and married Cindy, his wife of 33 years.
Dan loved music, enjoyed the outdoors, and spent hours on his computer. He loved life and always held on to the Blessed Hope of being with Jesus. He never missed an opportunity to witness and share his faith with others.
