John Steven Sims

John Steven Sims passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at the age of 74 in O'Fallon, Missouri. Born on May 26, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, son of John and Joyce Sims. 

He is survived by his brother, Jeffrey R. (Ann) Sims and sister, Jana R. (Stanley) Kostecki; nieces and nephews, Shaun (Beth) Sims, Carissa (Nick) Ewing, Becky Rabe, Geran (Anne) Kostecki, and Lauren (Billy) Ekiss; great-nieces and nephews, Clara, Griffin, Callan, Evelyn, Jackston, Lillian, Brock, Keegan, Colton, and Dorothy. John was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Sims, and his mother, Joyce Sims nee Kespohl. 

John dedicated many years to working at Florissant Valley and Boone Center of O'Fallon, Missouri, participating in the Sheltered Workshops until his retirement in 2014. John's sense of service extended beyond his professional life, as he served as an usher at Dardenne Presbyterian Church in O'Fallon, Missouri. 

A man of diverse interests, John was an enthusiastic participant in a weekly bowling league at Crest Bowling Alley in Florissant, Missouri. He was a passionate St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and NASCAR fan, never missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. John's love for reading was evident in his daily routine; he enjoyed reading the newspaper and challenging his mind with word search puzzles.

John had a unique affection for buffalos and clocks, a quirk that those close to him will remember with a smile. 

His story is one of simple pleasures, steadfast faith, and the enduring bonds of family. He was a kind, loving, and charming person who always greeted you with a  smile. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
