Joseph John Hampson, Jr., of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on November 28, 1946, the son of Joseph and Julia Hampson (née Quinn).
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career of more than 30 years with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing, where he was a proud member of the Machinists Union. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW Post #5327 in Wentzville.
Above all, Joseph was a devoted family man. He shared 56 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Lou Hampson (née Ruebel), and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Hampson; his six children, Joseph (Julie) Hampson III, Yvonne Hampson, Theresa (Garth) Owens, Donold (Maria) Hampson, John (Rachel) Hampson, and William Hampson; seven siblings, Judy (Roy) Aubuchon, Dan (Donna) Hampson, Mary Natoli, Kathy (Kevin) Genteman, Thomas (Jan) Hampson, Vincent (Barbara) Hampson, and Sue (Marshall) Chandler; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Alicia, Hannah, Eric, Elizabeth, William, Claudia, and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Josiah, Elijah, and Emry; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph John Hampson; his mother, Julia Hampson (née Quinn); his brothers, James Hampson and Robert Hampson; and Robert’s wife, MaryAnn.
Joseph’s legacy of service, dedication, and love for family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
***A celebration of life honoring Joseph Hampson, Jr. will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The celebration will take place at Landhaus Facility, 400 Foristell Road, Foristell, MO 63385. The venue specific event timing will be share once finalized.
