Julia Mary Echelmeyer, 96, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026.


Beloved wife of the late, Lester George Echelmeyer. She and Lester were married 65 years prior to his passing in 2018. Julia is survived by her son, Donald Echelmeyer and daughter, Mary (Steve) Schierbecker; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Julia is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Boland and Julia (Mahoney) Boland, and her brother, Donald Boland. 


She had a deep love for travel and cherished every opportunity to explore new places. A devoted member of the Red Hat Society, she treasured the friendships and fellowship it brought into her life. She was a loving mother to Donald and Mary, and she found great joy in gathering with family and friends. An active member of the Lake St. Louis community, she enthusiastically participated in many local activities and built lasting connections with those around her.


Julia donated her body to St. Louis University Medical Center. 


Memorial donations may be made to: Cardinal Glennon Children's Research Hospital or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
