Karen Mintner Obituary

Karen Sue Mintner of Wright City passed away on January 27, 2026 at the age of 76.

Karen was born on July 4, 1949 to Edna Friedeck nee McCrory.

 

Karen was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Joseph Mintner, on September 27, 1971, and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Karen and Joseph were a devoted and loving couple who always supported one another, caring for each other through every stage of life, no matter what they were going through.

 

Karen was a devoted mother who truly loved being at home, especially in her kitchen, where she found joy in baking and cooking for her family and passing that knowledge to her granddaughters .She was well known for her famous sugar cookie recipe and her biscuits and gravy—dishes no one could make quite like she could. She was the glue that held the family together, always knowing just what to say and never hesitating to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Karen took great pride in helping raise and care for her grandchildren showering them with love and attention. She was known for her open arms and listening ears making others feel heard, welcomed, and deeply cared for. 

 

In her free time, Karen was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, who never missed a game, enjoyed going fishing, watching true crime television, and relaxing with her favorite Hallmark movies.

 

Karen is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Joseph Mintner; her children, Pam (Terry) Knisell of Pendleton, MO , Chris (Kate) Mintner of Wright City, MO, Sheila (Terry Golden) Mintner of Wright City, MO, and; her daughter-in-law, Nicole Mintner of Land O’Lakes, FL; her grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Conrad, Kenny (Brittany) James, Daniel (Ashley) James, Jarod (Emily) Mintner, Kaitlyn (Alex) Brommelhorst, Madison Mintner, Kristina “Nina” Beitel, Grayce Knisell, Troy Mintner, Joseph “JD” Beitel, Sam Mintner, and Dallas Mintner; and nine beloved great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Friedeck; her son, Kirk Mintner; her twin brother, Larry Friedeck; and her brother, Gary Friedeck.

 

Karen will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
