Lehman Jones Obituary

Lehman Bryan Jones, 88 of Lake St. Louis passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 2 after a battle with pneumonia.

Lehman was born on December 3, 1932 in Hoxie Arkansas to Bryan and Myrtle (Pinkston) Jones and was an only child. On July 10, 1954 he married the love of his life Veleta EJ Rayburn in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. They proceeded to have 7 children residing in Lake St. Louis, MO. He was a master woodworker building many family heirloom pieces for his grandkids and great grandkids. Fishing, traveling and watching the St. Louis Cardinals games were his favorite pastimes.

He graduated from Walnut Ridge high school and enlisted in the US Air Force. He went to work at McDonnell Douglas where he learned the tool and die making trade. While employed at McDonnell Douglas he was part of the crew that created the heat shield for the reentry module of the Gemini spacecraft. Later, he transferred to Nordine where he retired in 1995.

Lehman is survived by his wife of 67 years Veleta EJ (Rayburn) Jones. Son Lehman Dale (Lynn) Jones; grandson Bryan (Jennifer)- Ethan, Claire, Emma, Chloyee, Emery; grandson Jason- Kyler, grandson Jeremy (Jayme) Genie, Tessa, Keira; grandson Josh Morris.

Son Scott (Jeannine) Jones; granddaughter Cassie (Patrick), Callen, Nolan McMahill; granddaughter TiffanyJones; Evelyn Prouhet.

Daughter Pam (Jeff) Schneier; granddaughter Amy Jones; John Charles Starkey III.

Daughter Vickie (Jim) Fink; granddaughter Renee Richmond.

Daughter Cindy Stoneking; grandson Robert and Steven.

Daughter Kristie (Nick) Westerhold; granddaughter Sophia.

Preceded in death by his parents Bryan and Myrtle (Pinkston) Jones. One son Montie Jones and son-in-law Ronald Buddy Stoneking. 

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9 to 12 with services following at 12, Pitman funeral home in Wentzville Missouri. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's research and prevention foundation.
