Leslie L. Allen, Jr., a cherished family man, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, in O'Fallon, MO, at the age of 88. Born on August 17, 1936, in St. Louis, MO, son of Leslie Allen, Sr. and Mary D. (McMahon) Allen.
His family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Norma J. (Wuest) Allen, four children, Stephen (Traci) Allen of Eldorado Hills, CA, Jeanine (Tom) Dillinger of Flower Mound TX, Kathleen (Stephen) Farkas of Kansas City, MO, Karen (Jackson) Hraban of Smithville, MO, (Tracey ) Allen Bass (Steve) Bass of Chesterfield, MO, ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Leslie was preceded in death by his oldest son Leslie Louis Allen, III, parents, Leslie Louis Allen, Sr. and Mary Dorothea (McMahon) Allen, and his sister, Mary Patricia Thompson.
An avid gardener, Leslie found joy in the tranquility of his garden. His passion for bee-keeping and winemaking were not just hobbies but reflections of his love for nature and craftsmanship. His homemade wines were a testament to his patience and skill, often shared and celebrated at family gatherings.
Leslie's love for sports was evident from his high school days, when he competed in wrestling and football. His enthusiasm for sports continued throughout his life as a dedicated fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team. He relished the camaraderie and competition of his bowling league and enjoyed friendly rounds of golf at the neighborhood course.
Traveling, especially going on cruises, was one of Leslie's favorite ways to explore the world in his retirement with his beautiful wife Norma. He relished the adventure of new places and enjoyed the relaxation of the open sea and sandy beaches. Each journey was an opportunity to create new memories and share stories with his loved ones.
A gentle giant with a kind heart full of love, Leslie was known for his ability to light up a room with his humor. His warmth and smile will be missed.
