Linda J. Rushing passed away on May 25, 2026 at the age of 84.

Linda Jean Rushing was a woman whose love could be felt long before it was spoken. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a friend whose kindness touched many lives. Her greatest joy was her family, and she spent her life caring for those she loved with a strength that never wavered.

Linda shared a special and unbreakable bond with her husband, Larry Rushing. Their love story was built on faith, commitment, and a lifetime of memories. Though the years brought both happiness and hardship, her love for him remained constant. It is comforting to imagine them reunited once again.

To her children and grandchildren, Linda was a source of warmth, guidance, and unconditional love. She celebrated their successes, comforted them during difficult times, and never stopped caring for them, even when her own strength began to fade. The love she gave will continue to live on through each of them.

Those who knew Linda will remember her smile, her determination, her caring heart, and her ability to make people feel welcome and loved. She faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, always putting others before herself. Even in her hardest days, the love she carried for her family never diminished.

Linda’s legacy is not measured by the years she lived, but by the lives she touched. Her kindness, wisdom, and devotion will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in every cherished memory, every lesson she taught, and every act of love she inspired.

Today, we mourn her passing, but we also celebrate a life beautifully lived. We give thanks for the years we were blessed to share with her and find comfort in knowing that love never truly ends. It lives on in those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Anita) Rushing, Jr. and Rick (Nancy) Rushing, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Lori) Rushing, Larry (Wendi) Rushing, III, Stephanie (Ted) Saltos, Ryan Rushing, Rasheal (Ethan) Wesley, Ricky Jr (Payton) Rushing, Katie Rushing (Jacob Lombardo), Jason (Lauren) Bockhorst, and Andy (Tisha) Bockhorst ; and eleven great-grandchildren, Ayla, Ava, Henry, Owen, Abby, Carter, Saylor, Levi, Nathan, Easton, and Tate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Rushing, Sr.; her father, Hershell Myatt; her mother, Louise Rose Myatt; and her brother, Robert Myatt.

Linda married the love of her life, Larry, on March 9, 1959, while he was serving in the United States Air Force. Together they built a loving family, welcoming their first son, Larry, Jr., before later moving to St. Louis, where their son Rick was born.

Linda enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and the hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid doll collector, loved dancing, and took great pride in decorating her home and always looking her best. She and Larry enjoyed many happy years as snowbirds, spending their winters in Texas, and she especially loved traveling to Mexico.

Above all, Linda cherished her family and the companionship of her beloved dogs, especially Casper. She will be remembered for her warmth, style, and the love she shared with those closest to her.
