Marian Tenney Lang Obituary

Marian Tenney Lang of Warrenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on June 21, 2026, at the age of 56.

Marian was born to Gilman Aiden Lang and Marian Tenney Lang. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, dedicated educator, and cherished friend.

She is survived by her loving husband of more than 30 years, Shawn Hicks; her children, Sarah (Brandon) Heisserer, Sean (Zoe) Hicks, Dylan (Stephanie) Hicks, and Aden Hicks; her sister, Donna (James) Lang-Rice; her brothers, Gilman M. (Kim Holton) Lang, Thomas E. (Donna) Lang, Greg P. Lang, and David G. (Heather McNall) Lang; her nieces and nephews, Eileen Avery, Michelle Peterson, Colleen Bower, Brian Lang, Kali Lang, Charlotte Lang, and Patrick Lang; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved dog, Dottie.

Since 2009, Marian faithfully served as a teacher at St. Patrick School in Wentzville, where she was deeply loved by her students, colleagues, and the families she served.

Above all else, Marian treasured her family. She also had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Whether hiking the trails of New Hampshire's White Mountains, enjoying time on Lake Winnipesaukee, or simply being outside, Marian found peace and happiness in the beauty of the natural world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilman Aiden Lang and Marian Tenney Lang.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Patrick School to support students in need of tuition help (giving.myparishsoft.io/app/giving/stpw) or The National Audubon Society (audubon.org).

The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
