Marion H. (Berg) Bueneman

Marion H. Bueneman (nee: Berg), passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025 at the age of 100.

Marion was born March 22, 1925 in Augusta, MO, daughter of Arthur and Erna Berg.  Marion graduated from Augusta High School and after graduation from high school she attended St. Louis Business College. After graduation she worked in downtown St. Louis and commuted by train back to Augusta on weekends. 

Marion was united in marriage to Calvin Bueneman on June 12, 1948.  They were married 57 years prior to Calvin’s passing in 2006.  She was a homemaker most of her life.  
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Freese and husband Ronald of Marthasville, MO; grandson, Michael Freese and wife Erin of Villa Ridge, MO; great-grandsons, Samuel and Matthew Freese of Villa Ridge, MO; sisters, Ellen Mallinckrodt of Augusta, MO and Leona Schoene and husband Don of Vienna, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Bueneman; parents, Arthur and Erna Berg; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Gwendolyn Berg, and brother-in-law, Hubert Mallinckrodt. 
Marion greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She enjoyed her grandson and great-grandsons and was always ready to watch a ballgame, whether it be her grandson or the St. Louis Cardinals.

She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She and her husband were both part of the St. Charles County PWSD#2 Board. Marion served as treasurer for the board for 30 years. After retirement, Calvin and Marion enjoyed trout fishing with family and friends. Marion was a member of St. Paul’s UCC in Defiance and served on the Women’s Guild. She was always ready to volunteer at church, piecing quilts for raffles, quilting, or baking.  She also liked to play cards and listen to old country and big band music. 
Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who leaves us with many happy memories to cherish.  She will be missed by her family and friends.
