Marlene Hamilton passed away on June 11, 2026 at her home in Wentzville, MO at the age of 87. She is survived by her three children, Virginia M. Owens, Randall K. (Laurie) Sprock, and Bonnie S. (James) Swafford;  eight grandchildren, Wes Owens, Melissa Johnson, Stephanie Owens, Crystal Quesenberry, Alicia Williams, Lilly Swafford, Dahlia Swafford, and Iris Swafford; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Emil Fredde, mother, Frieda (Requat) Fredde, husband, James T. Hamilton, brothers, Patrick R. Fredde and Bernard W. Fredde, and son-in-law, Kenneth Owens.  

Marlene found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially crocheting and macramé, and tending to her garden. Alongside her husband, James, she spent many happy years as a snowbird, escaping to Florida each October and returning home in May. Together, they taught country line dancing classes in their younger years. Their adventures also took them to countless destinations, with bluegrass festivals and travel creating many cherished memories throughout their life together.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and the many lives she touched throughout the years.
