Martha Jane (Harlan) Veach

Martha Jane Veach passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 86. Martha was born February 25,1939 in Treloar, MO to Wayne and Ruth Harlan nee Cochran.

Martha married Billy Joe Veach and the two of them were blessed with four children; Susan Ann, Billy Ray, Steven Wayne, and Rosemary.  Martha was a loving mother and grandmother and a hard worker, she worked many years at the Beacon Shoe Factory in Jonesburg.  She also loved embroidery, word searches and when she was younger making many quilts, she also enjoyed watching “spooky” movies and old westerns.   She was a people person and  enjoyed going to Old Threshers watching people dance.

Martha loved her family, especially her grandchildren, she even enjoyed an occasional side-by-side ride in the country with Steve.  Above all her faith was the foundation of her life, she never had a bad word to say about anybody and loved her church family at the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Wayne and Ruth Harlan; her husband Billy Joe Veach; two children, Billy Ray Veach and Susan Ann Pelley; granddaughter Anjalah Veach; two brothers, Walter E. Harlan and William Harlan; three sisters, Mary Lee, Susie Poyuge, Lela Hale, Dolly Hoerskamp .

She is survived by her son, Steve Veach and his wife, Vicky;  daughter, Rosemary Veach; brothers, Wayne and Willard “Willy” Harlan; sisters, Dorothy Ketchum beloved grandchildren. Tammy and Andy Pelley, Mike and Tyler Veach, Leslie Missel, and Marie Veach many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Martha will be missed by her community, churches and many friends.

All memorials can be given in her honor to the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Martha’s visitation will be 11AM-1PM on Monday, November 3rd at the Pitman Funeral Home in Jonesburg.

Funeral services will be at 1PM Monday at Pitman Funeral Home in Jonesburg with Pastor Jonathan Reynolds

Martha will be laid to rest at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery following her services.
