Mary VanHoose Obituary

Mary Evelyn VanHoose, formerly of Wentzville, Missouri,  passed away in her home in Lady Lake, Florida on February 19, 2021 at the age of 87.  Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late John L. VanHoose. She is survived by her son, John S. (Karen) VanHoose, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  

Evelyn was born on December 15, 1933 in Lilbourn, Missouri to William A. Barnes and Josephine Yount Barnes.  She was married September 5th, 1954 and moved to Wentzville, Missouri in 1964 where she worked at The Best Western Heritage and retired from the Wentzville School District.  Evelyn was a lifetime member of the Wentzville VFW Post 5327 Auxiliary and a member of the Red Hat Ladies.  Her hobbies included ceramics and latch hooking.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.  

She is preceded in death by her husband John L. VanHoose who passed away in 2009, her parents, and her brother Joe A. Barnes.
