Matthew Parker Obituary

Matthew James Parker of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his home on February 18, 2025 at the young age of 50.

Matt was born in Saint Louis, Missouri to Bill and Sue (Nichols) Parker on April 27, 1974. He had a fun-filled childhood playing countless sports and attended Mehlville High School in Saint Louis, MO. Matt graduated with a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and moved on to work as a dedicated employee for Monsanto/Bayer for the next 25 years. Matt and Susan (Wall) were happily married in 2001 and had their wonderful son, Liam, in 2007. Matt’s most cherished title was Dad and his most proud accomplishment was his son.

Matt’s life was filled with all the things he enjoyed. Friends, family time, golfing, watching sports, cuddling his dog, his job, spending time with his son, playing his guitar, fishing trips and family vacations. Matt loved the life he created with Susan and Liam. His relaxed and confident personality naturally drew people to him. All who met him loved him. The legacy Matt left was seen in his determination and sheer willpower in which he fought his cancer for the last year to make it back home to the family he loved. That legacy of hard work and devotion to family will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Matt is survived by his devoted wife, Susan, and their beloved son, Liam, of Lake Saint Louis, MO, his adoring parents Bill and Sue Parker of Saint Louis, MO, his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Mary Parker of Springfield, MO and Dan and Gennie Parker of Saint Louis, MO, his mother-in-law, Joyce Wall of Lake Saint Louis, MO, his in-laws, John and Kim O’Connor of Defiance, MO, Stephanie Courtaway of Fort Worth, TX and Jim and Katie (Wall) Hoffman of Cedarburg, WI. Matt is also survived by several nieces and nephews that he greatly loved and countless aunts, uncles and cousins. His infectious laughter and grin will be missed by many.
