Michael Leo Brenneisen passed away on December 8, 2025 at the age of 82. Michael was born January 3, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, MO, son of Harold and Mildred Brenneisen.
He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1967. During his service, he excelled in marksmanship and competed in gun competitions, a point of pride he carried with him throughout his life. After his service, he met his beautiful wife, Phyllis in St. Charles. They were married September 29, 1984 and brought together a blended, loving family of five children. He enjoyed painting (Bob Ross), woodworking or as he called it "whittling", and had a love for animals. Michael had a very curious mind; he loved learning new things and would learn as much about one subject as he could reminding his family of his knowledge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis (Kaiser) Brenneisen; his four children, Eric (Kristy) McMullen, Kristine (John) Geisen, Timothy (Mandy) McMullen, Suzanne (Jarred) Thompson; five grandchildren, Jarred (Kate) Thompson, Jr., Lukas Arns, Colin McMullen, Gavin Geisen, Isabel Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Timberlee Rae and Eliza; He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Michael Brenneisen, mother, Mildred Sarah (Ringer), step-father, James Monroe Foster, and son, Michael James Brenneisen.
Michael will be remembered forever by his family and friends, who hold his memory close to their hearts.
