Michael Montgomery

Michael Montgomery of Defiance, Missouri, passed away on November 13, 2025 at the age of 66. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Montgomery (née: Rieger) of Defiance, Missouri; father, Robert Montgomery of Brentwood, Missouri; sister, Mindy (Mark) Branstetter of Frontenac, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Montgomery (née: Easley). 

Michael and Rita were married in 2001, sharing many wonderful years together. A devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville, Michael’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. 

For 35 years, Michael was a successful automotive business owner, earning the respect and admiration of his peers and customers. His passion for automobiles extended beyond his business, he was an avid drag racing enthusiast. Michael was especially proud of his 1969 Road Runner, famous for its impressive wheel stands.

Michael also found great joy on his farm, relishing the peace and quiet of the countryside. Whether he was driving his tractor or cutting down trees, he cherished the tranquility and hard work that came with farm life.

Above all, Michael loved his family, friends, and his dogs. He will be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
