Michael Thomas Wampler of O’Fallon, MO passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by two children, Beth Wampler of Denver, CO and Bruce Wampler and wife, Rosemarie of Josephville, MO; two grandsons, Jacob & Jesse Wampler; one sister, Alice Mikesell and husband, John of Westerville, OH; other relatives, and friends.
Mike was born April 24, 1940 in Oak Landon, IN; son of the late Marshall Wampler and wife, Bessie Thompson Wampler. Mike graduated with a BS Degree from Purdue University and a MS Degree from Stanford University. He married Nancy Nickell in 1961 and she preceded him in death June 5, 2021. He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft for 30+ years.
Mike was a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Charles, MO and later College Methodist Church in Warrenton, MO. He was also a member of the Jaycees for many years. He collected Muzzle Loader Guns and was a member of the Trapper of the Starved Rock, loved to travel internationally and loved his two grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
