Nancy met Dick at a church group and was proud to be a Hoosier. They were married for many wonderful years before his passing in 2024. They were blessed with three children. John, Vicki, and Karyline. They moved to Florissant, Missouri, in 1970 where Dick and Nancy met their dear friends the Lammers and O’ Donnells. They all moved out to Lake St. Louis and lived within a block of each other. They established a weekly routine of “beer thirty” where all three families got together to drink beer, laugh and act silly. This remained a tradition throughout their lives and adding Jack into the mix.
On Wednesday nights Stephaninia’s has a special where you get a large pizza for the price of a small. Mom and Dad loved going there on Wednesday nights and Nancy would have her glass of Chianti wine. Upon Dick’s passing her grandson Luke and his wife Bree carried on the tradition every Wednesday night by taking her to Stephanina’s or simply having dinner with her. She always looked forward to Wednesday nights.
Mom worked at Lake Nona for 27 years. She met several celebrities and loved to tell stories. Some of the people she met beyond the professional golfers were Michael Jordan, Sean Connery, Bob Hope, Prince Andrew, Sylvester Stallone, and more. Members were also extremely fond of Nancy! She went above and beyond to make them feel welcome and to provide them with a personalized experience. They especially loved her smile. Mom always took Caitlyn to Lake Nona for special events and to see Santa.
Nancy loved to tell stories of the trips her and dad took. They traveled to Hawaii, Yugoslava, Mexico, Bermuda, Scotland, England to name a few. They loved attending a wedding at Turnberry Scotland, seeing St. Andrews Golf Course, the Windsor Castle and traveling all over Scottland and England with Karyline and Robert.
Mom loved taking her grandchildren on trips in the summer. They went to Johnson Shut Ins, Six Flags, Key West, Chicago, St. Augustine and more. The kids loved spending time with her! After Dad’s passing the grandkids would visit her in her home or take her for a special outing, to see Christmas lights, recitals, sporting events, lunch and more.
Mom loved to call and chat, even if it was just to say hi. Mom and Dad enjoyed going to Karyline's to sit by the pool. They loved Christmas and the 4th of July with all our family, especially when John came up from Florida. Mom and Dad also enjoyed going to Vicki’s house in Troy to sit on the patio by the pond and mom would enjoy her a beer or two.
Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
