Nancy Poffel Obituary

On Sunday, September 6, 2020, Nancy Poffel, a loving wife and devoted mother/step-mother of six children, and grandmother of 14 passed away at age 63.

Nancy was born on May 12, 1957, in Lancaster, California to Betty McClinton. She grew up in California and the family moved to Colorado. It was here that Nancy had three daughters. After raising her daughters, Nancy reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Joe, whom she married in 2006.

Nancy always had a passion for traveling, experiencing new things, and meeting new people. She followed her lifelong dream and became a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines where she traveled the world until her retirement.

After retirement, Nancy moved from Colorado to Missouri to be closer to her sister and brother-in-law and, of course, to spend time with her beloved brother Mike doing all of their favorite things together. She enjoyed the last few years of retirement spoiling her 14 grandchildren. Nancy was known for her infectious smile, kind heart, and compassionate spirit. She spent every day thinking about others and how to make their days brighter, happier, and how to lift those around her up.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joe of 14 years and her children and their spouses; Staci Reedy (Andy Gulich), Jamie and JP Simo, Christina and Jared Vilhauer, Mike and Kira Ireland; as well as her step-children and their spouses; Joey and Melissa Poffel, James and Haley Poffel. She will be deeply missed by her sister LaVerne and her husband Jeff, sister Michelle, and brother Michael. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren; Larry, Joey, Michael, Ashlyn, Trevor, Jordyn, Kelci, Kyler, Mavis, Madeleine, Teegan, Colbie, Bailey, and Haley.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy’s wishes are donations to be made on her behalf to the Arthritis Foundation (arthritis.org). Arrangements for a celebration of life for Nancy will be made at a later date
