Patricia “Pat” Jean Connor (nee O’Rourke), fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at her O’Fallon, Missouri home, surrounded by love and family at the age of 88.
Beloved mother of John (Sherry) Hoffman of Bridgeton, Missouri. Dear mother-in-law of Mark Viehman of Bridgeton, Missouri. Cherished grandma of Crystal (Steven) Rinkel, Heather (Kevin Linebaugh) Hoffman, Steven (Kristi) Elliott, Nikki Hoffman and Alison (Caleb) Borowiak. Treasured great-grandma of Hayley, Rylie, Chase, Luke, Derika, Ben, Oli, Tobin, Kenlee and Charlotte. She is also survived by her beloved kitties, Willow and Stormy, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Connor; her son, William “Bill” Hoffman; her daughter, JoAnn Viehman; her parents, Michael and Dorothy O’Rourke; her brother, George O’Rourke; and her sister, Nancy Hays.
Born March 29, 1938, Pat grew up and lived in the St. Louis, Missouri area before moving to Lake St. Louis in January 2000. Throughout her life, she worked for Rexall Drug Company, provided daycare for many families, and worked as a bus aide for the Wentzville School District where she loved working with special needs and early childhood children. She also served as a St. Charles County election judge for many years.
Pat lived life to the fullest, enjoying a wide range of hobbies and activities. She was an amazing dancer. From sock hops to ballroom dancing to country line dancing, you could find her on the dance floor! She enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, fishing and hunting at the farm. As life slowed down a bit, she enjoyed activities such as cross-stitching, gardening, word puzzles, solitaire, and reading crime and mystery books. She also belonged to a variety of clubs and organizations, including West County Catholics, Parents without Partners, Lake St. Louis Pontooners, Lake St. Louis Anglers and the Thursday night cookout group.
She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and watched every game. Often referring to them as the Comeback Cardinals, she never doubted them until the last out. She also loved football! The Mizzou Tigers and the Kansas City Chiefs were her favorite football teams but she would watch any game she could find playing.
Above all else, Pat loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A true matriarch of the family, she created lasting traditions and ensured every holiday was celebrated. A pillar of strength and hope, her family loved and adored her. Her friends loved her as well and meant the world to her. A true treasure, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pat was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne Prairie.
