Philip M. Aalbers Obituary

Philip M. Aalbers passed away July 30, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born in Quincy, IL, son of Maurice and Eleanor Aalbers (nee Kenning).  Phil proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and was a graduate of the Squadron Officer School in 1965. In recognition of his dedicated service, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.

A devoted member of the St. Patrick-Wentzville Knights of Columbus, he also gave back to his community by serving on the Wentzville Board of Adjustment for 15 years. He was an active participant in the Bear Creek Golf Leagues and generously volunteered his time at the Mary Martha Thrift Shop.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Lou Aalbers (nee Dorian): three children, Mary Ann (Andy) Jeffers of Greenville, MI, John (Jessica) Aalbers of Chesterfield, MO, Barb (Tim) Rooney of University City, MO; brother, David (Carol) Aalbers of Carson City, NV; six grandchildren, Molly (Josh) LaFave, Helen (Ron) DeVries, Hannah Aalbers, Emily Aalbers, Claire Rooney, Michael Rooney; and two great-grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by his parents.

Phil found great joy in playing golf, tending to his yard, traveling, and-most of all-spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to: St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
