Phillip Edward Rainey of Wentzville passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the age of 61 years.
He is survived by two children, Bella Rainey and Sam Rainey both of Lake St. louis, MO; two siblings, David Rainey of Villa Park, IL and Carol Keenan and husband, Pat of Elmhurst, IL; two nephews, Mike Keenan and wife, Brittany of Elgin, IL and Matt Keenan of Elmhurst, IL; one doggo, Sadie Mae; amongst other relatives, and many friends.
Phillip Edward Rainey was born May 13, 1960 in Urbana, Illinois; son of the late Paul Rainey and Virginia Culwell Rainey. Phil is also preceded by one late sister, Jean. He graduated from Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Il. He worked for many years at Karpel Systems in St. Louis as an IT specialist. Phillip enjoyed playing stand up bass in a Rock-A-Billy Band, “Robbie and the Rockin Fools” for several years, as well as being a member of the Upright Bass Players Union. Phil marveled the arts, including everything from painting styrofoam heads to carving large wooden sticks from the backyard. He was an avid vinyl record collector and antique mall shopper. Phil’s big personality and even bigger heart were known far and wide.
Phillip will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
