Phyllis Diane (Henry) Korte

Phyllis Diane Korte, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

She was born June 23, 1945 in Hannibal, MO at St. Elizabeth Hospital, daughter of Robert and Charlene (Davis) Henry.  

Phyllis attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Grade School in Millwood, MO and graduated from Silex High School in 1963.

In August of 1967, Phyllis married her sweetheart, Daniel B. Korte who survives. To this union were born three children, Daniel R., Stephanie, and Krystal.

Phyllis was not only a wonderful mother but she managed to juggle working away from home, as well. She had a career with Monsanto Company from 1965 to 2003. She began her career in accounting and ended in the Epidemiology Department.

Preceding her in death are her parents, two daughters, Stephanie Korte and Krystal Gierer, and her brothers, Jimmy, Mike, Mark, and Kevin.

What Phyllis did best was care for others.  She leaves a legacy of love for family and friends. Phyllis and Dan were very active in the St. Charles Elks Club and helped many people in need. 

She is survived by her husband, Daniel B. Korte; son, Daniel R. Korte; grandsons, Gavin and Caden Gierer; granddaughter, Kahlie Korteaud; great-grandsons, Landon, Christian, and Wyatt. She is also survived by her loving siblings; Janet (Bill) Baker, Susan (Harold) Brewer, Maggie Perrott, Marla Henry, Glen and Brenda Reinholtz, Marcia Henry, Donna (Craig) Entwistle, Christy (Gayle) Stoneking, Joseph Henry, and Nancy Killoren. Also survived are her sisters-in-law, Glenda Henry and Jean Thomure, brothers-in-law, Roy (Phyllis) Korte and Jerry Korte, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, and entertaining family and friends. 

She will be remembered as the matriarch of the Henry clan leaving a lot of broken hearts and great memories.
