Rev. Eugene Fred Bendel

Rev. Eugene Fred Bendel of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 89 years.
He is survived by two sisters, Emily Vanderbos of Wentzville, MO and Maxine Alba and husband, William of Florida; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 
Father Gene served the Archdiocese of St. Louis for 63 years; having served locally at Assumption Parish in O’Fallon and St. Theodore Parish in Flint Hill. He also enjoyed biking, hunting, fishing, traveling, and golfing. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene William Bendel and wife, Helen Weber Bendel; and one sister, Lillian Bax.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Assumption Church in O’Fallon, MO.  He will be entered in the mausoleum at St. Patrick Church Cemetery in Wentzville. Memorials may be made to Birthright or Cardinal Glennon Children Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 9:30-10AM.
