Richard Copeland Obituary

Richard Copeland of Wentzville, MO passed away on Friday May 21, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born on July 28, 1931 in DeSoto, MO. He retired from teaching with the Seminole County School system in Florida. He loved golfing, singing in church choirs, coaching, cooking, the Smokey Mountains, and his family. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, JoAnn Nesbitt Copeland; his parents, Frank and Delma Copeland; sister, Mildred Wigger; and grandson, Glenn David Hill, Jr. Survivors include daughters; Cheryl (Glenn) Hill, and Cindy (Alan) Ariel; grandchildren, Sarah Jo (Jay) Brown, Rebekah (Scott) Murray, Lorrel (Brandon) Hyde, Jennifer (Joshua) Hasty, Katelynn (Braden) Lomax, Emily (Tyler) Elliott, and Richard Joseph Ariel; and his great-grandchildren, whom he adored; Madelynn, Clayton, Caleb, Riley Kate, Anna Grace, Samuel David, Jackson, Cohen, Rosaylnn, Austin Copeland, Gabriel, Joanna, Darcy.

Visitation will be held at Wentzville United Methodist Church in Wentzville, Missouri 63385 on June 5, 2021 at 10:00 am with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Nesbitt Cemetery in Nesbitt, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice or Make-a-Wish Foundation.
