Robert E. Cruse

Robert E. Cruse, 78, passed away on January 20, 2026. Born in St. Charles, Missouri, he was the son of Samuel and Aletha Cruse.

Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later worked many years as a brewer for Anheuser-Busch. He was married to his wife, Charlene, for 49 years, a partnership built on commitment and love.

Family meant everything to Robert. He took great pride in his children and especially in his grandchildren, whom he loved deeply. He enjoyed cars, bowling, and time at the “boat,” but was best known for his willingness to help others whenever he could, never asking for anything in return.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Cruse (née Mathews) of Wentzville, Missouri; his son, Nicholas Cruse; his daughters, Sandra (Jeff) Cruse-Johnson and Tia (Jerome) Brown; his brother, Samuel (Deanna) Cruse; his grandchildren, Cooper, Riley, Edward, and Talia; and his great-grandchildren, Saliha and Sa-iden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Cruse and Aletha A. Cruse (née McRoberts).
