Robert "Bob" Bittick Obituary

Robert “Bob” Eugene Bittick passed away peacefully at his home in O’Fallon, Missouri, on April 30th, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed.

Bob was joyfully reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Inez “Grace” Bittick; his son, Lonnie Johnston; his parents, Kennard & Florence (Carron) Bittick; his sister, Junette “June” (Bittick) Henson; and his brother, Ervel “John” Bittick.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of his brother, Willis Bittick; and his children: Steve Bittick & wife Joanne, Cindy Westhoff & husband Bill, Robert Bittick II & Kathy, and Brian Bittick & wife Kelli.

His beautiful life will be so treasured by his grandchildren: Jamie Bittick, Ryan Westhoff & wife Anne, Cori Regot & husband Josh, Danielle Beasley & husband Alberto, Robert Bittick III & wife Autum, Heather Behrmann & husband Ryan, Calandra Johnston & Jacob, Alex Bittick, Adam Westhoff & wife Rebecca, Kaitlyn Stauder & husband Randy, and Kendal Bittick.

He was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy: Javin, Jackson, Andrew, Connor, Rosemary, Isabelle, Sam, Cecilia, Elizabeth, Oliver, Isla, and Camilla.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he worked at the Pittsburgh glass factory in Festus, Missouri, and later continued his career at Monsanto and MEMC, where he remained until his retirement.

A lifelong Mizzou fan, Bob loved attending football, softball, and basketball games with his family and cheering on the Tigers. His greatest joy, however, came from supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a constant presence on the sidelines of their sporting events, in the audience at school concerts, and in the front row at dance recitals.

Bob was a man of quiet strength and unwavering Catholic faith. His beliefs were a constant source of comfort and shaped the way he lived, loved, and cared for those around him. Through his actions, he taught the values of love, humility, generosity, and enduring faith, leaving a lasting example for all who knew him.

Bob’s life will be celebrated with a funeral Mass at Assumption Catholic Church in O’Fallon, Missouri, on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and visit beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the church lobby prior to the service.
