Roger Lyle Eades, 91, of Foristell, Missouri, passed away on August 8, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1934, in Modesto, Illinois, to the late John Benjamin Franklin Eades and Maudlee (Sims) Eades. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lee Eades.
Roger graduated from Ferguson High School in 1952 and went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University. He was semi-fluent in German and proudly served in the Missouri Air National Guard, 131st Bomb Wing, from 1952 to 1961, achieving the rank of Airman First Class.
Roger devoted over 45 years to McDonnell Aircraft, McDonnell Douglas, and Boeing Co., where he helped design the computer programs used to manufacture parts for the F-4, F/A-18, YF-23, and many other notable aircraft. While at McDonnell Aircraft, he received the MCAIR ZD Presidential Citation for devising new mathematical procedures for cutting 3-axis surfaces.
On December 27, 1980, Roger married Virginia “Ginger” (Nelson) Eades. The couple made their home in Ferguson, Missouri, before moving to Foristell in 1999.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Ginger; children, Scott Corwin (Sheila Lenkman), Janet Eades, Robin Ridgeway (Brett), John Eades, David Corwin (Jennifer), and Matthew Corwin; grandchildren Samantha Garrison (David), Hunter Ridgeway, Joshua Bode (Logan), Autumn Ridgeway, Ryan Bode, Madeline Sparks, Ashlyn Ridgeway, Emma Corwin, Brendan Corwin, Tyler Corwin, and Ethan Corwin; and great-grandchildren Reagan Davis, David Dean Garrison III, Charlotte Garrison, Barrett Powell-Bode, and Cheyenne Bode. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Eades Hankey, her children Daniel Eades (Angela) and Catherine Miller (Jason), and numerous extended family members.
Roger’s life was rich with passions and pursuits. He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, bowling, golf, photography, and travel - visiting 52 countries and embarking on numerous cruises, with Hawaii holding a special place in his heart. A proud car enthusiast, his collection over the years included a 1940 Chevrolet Coupe, a 1952 Oldsmobile, a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette, and a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. He had a lifelong love of math and mathematical formulas. Roger was always willing to lend a hand with Ginger’s quilting projects. He was also a board member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 364.
Roger will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man whose curiosity, skills, and kindness touched all who knew him.
