Ruth Aline Grimshaw (née: Biter) of Wright City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 9, 2026, at the age of 91. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry Grimshaw of Wright City, Missouri; four children, Jayne (Richard) Corbin, Dina Toth, David (Karen) Grimshaw, and Dana (Rob) Opdyke; grandchildren, Lucas (Lisa), Danielle (Jon), Joseph, Bailey, Desiree, Paige, Austin, Whitney (Matt), Ashton, Colton, and Chloe (Liam); great grandchildren, Elijah, Jacob, Elise, Greyson, Ezekiel, Eliyahna, Zander, Zeke, Enoch, Zaden, Zavier, and Noelle; many nieces and nephews; She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Harris, mother, Alpha Harris (née: Burchett), and her four siblings. 

Ruth and Harry were married on October 27, 1961 in Belleville, Illinois and celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage, and from this union they were blessed with four children. Jayne, Dina, David and Dana.

Her faith in God was her greatest strength. Her faith carried her through the tough times in life, her faith brought life, hope and healing to those searching for peace in a chaotic world. Her faith allowed her to trust God when the storms would rage. She was like an Eagle, when the storms of life would surround her she flew into the storm to gain the altitude required to soar higher than the storm itself.

Her love for God gave her the ability to give of herself to those around her. That love gave her a sensitivity to hear God‘s voice and a willingness to do his will with an unashamed boldness. Unashamed of the grace she received, unashamed of what Calvary signifies, unashamed because love removed the humiliation and shame of rejection. God’s love removed the self hate that consumed her being and replaced it with a love for others. She finally learned how to love that woman that felt so inadequate, so unworthy, so rejected and so unlovable. She learned to love herself.

She always looked for an opportunity to tell of God’s goodness and everlasting love. She was a prayer warrior. She believed in the power of prayer. She knew God heard and answered her prayers. She knew the word and stood on the promises of God. She did not know what tomorrow would bring but knew who held her tomorrow and whether it was above or below the green, God would be there to greet her with open arms. She trusted in her God as she knew he had a will and purpose, though she may not completely understand what he was doing she knew God was in control.

She knew God’s love, mercy, and grace. When she got saved it was her mission to tell others of the love she found. That love changed her life and she was determined to tell everyone she knew what God did for her. That love gave her a fierce boldness to share what Jesus did at Calvary. She would point blank ask if you knew Jesus, if you knew what he did for you on the cross. If you did not, she would ask if you wanted to know him and be saved, if you said yes, she would lead you in prayer to receive Christ as your Savior. If you said no, you were still getting prayed for. Either way she was going to touch the hem of his garment for you.

She was accused of being abnormal, religious, flaky, crazy, and possibly even a little over the top with her love for Jesus. She would laugh as she would tell of those stories of how people would label her, they even asked if her kids were normal or were, they like her. It was amazing how many times her phone rang as that abnormal, religious, flaky, crazy and over the top Jesus freak was asked to pray by one of her accusers. She would stop whatever she was doing, did not matter where or when and begin to pray.

Her faith is her legacy. If we have heard her say it once we have heard her say it a million times.
