Ruth M. Stotler (née: Dodd) of Warrenton, Missouri, passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 97. She was the beloved wife of the late, Wesley Stotler; She is survived by her children, Cathy (Mark) Rodamaker of Lake St. Louis, MO, Bonnie (David) Merz of Wentzville, MO, Diana Rykiel of Wentzville, MO, and Susie (Michael) Hughes of Marshall, TX; half sister, Beth (Joe) Zelley of Flint, Michigan; one half brother David Dodd of Flint, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; She is preceded in death by her father, Evertt Dodd Sr., mother, Pauline Dodd, son, Glenn Northup, daughter, Lynn Johnson, brother, Evertt Dodd, Jr., one grandchild, and two half sister's, Barbara Beebe and Susan Brandon.
Ruth was raised in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, where she spent her early years before continuing her education. She attended and graduated from the University of Missouri (“Mizzou”) and Stephens College, earning her degree in accounting.
Ruth was first married to her husband, Reid Northup, with whom she shared six children with. Cathy, Bonnie, Diana, Susie, Lynn, and Glenn. She later married Wesley, with whom she shared many years.
She began her career as an accountant, but after starting her family, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and caring for her home.
Ruth found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading books, shopping, fishing, traveling, cooking, and crocheting. Her crocheted blankets were especially meaningful, she lovingly made one for each of her children, leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will be cherished for years to come.
Above all, Ruth loved her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with them.
