Sandra Canter Obituary

Sandra Marie Canter passed away on May 16, 2025 at the age of 83. Sandra was born in Booneville, MO in 1941, daughter of Deameth and Helen Chester.  She later married her loving husband, Vic Canter and they celebrated 29 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2011. Sandra was employed as a Worker's Comp Administrator at General Motors for 30 years and member of First Baptist Church in Lake St. Louis for many years. 

She was a fun-loving person, she enjoyed having card parties. She loved her pets, watching old TV shows like Matlock and Perry Mason, and indulging in her sweets. Sandra found solace is taking care of her plants and flowers, especially the plant she received at her father's funeral 50 years ago. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. 

Sandra is survived by her son, Lyndell "Lenny" (Kathy) Canter of Florissant, MO; grandchildren, Lenny Canter, Rachel (Rashad) Rainer; daughter, Vicki (Chet) Hale of Columbia, TN;  grandson, Clayton Hale;  daughter, Stacey (Joe) Qualls of Columbia, TN;  granddaughter, Amanda Qualls; brother, Deameth (Carolyn Jane) Chester Jr.; niece, Charlotte Marie (Doak) Procter; great-nephews, Carl and Owen Procter; sister, Regina Streed; nephews, Jason and Samuel Streed; and Andrew (Betsy) Kacena; great-nieces Ruby and Nora Kacena; her best friend, Patricia (Michael) Flauter. She is preceded in death by her father, Deameth Ellis Chester, mother, Helen Marie (Daniel) Chester, husband, Victor S. Canter, sister, Candace Kacena, and granddaughter, Brittney Canter.
