Sandra Eileen Guilliams

February 24, 1942 - January 17, 2024

Sandra Eileen Guilliams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2024, in Wright City, Missouri, at the age of 81. She was born on February 24, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her brother, Bill (Sherry) Leeser and preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Alma (Reese) Leeser and sister, Doris (Ron) Smetak.

On July 17, 1959, Sandra (Sandy) married Gerald (Jerry) Guilliams, in Clayton, Missouri. Their union was one filled with love, commitment, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful life and family. She cherished her role as a mother to her two daughters, Debra (Rob) Marchbanks and Diane (Shawn) Saale. As a grandmother, she adored her grandchildren, Dana & Daniel Woodruff, and Taylor & Clayton Saale. Family gatherings and spending quality time with her loved ones brought her immense joy.

Sandy was a woman of many talents and passions. Throughout her life, she worked in various vocations, showcasing her versatility and determination. One notable accomplishment was her role as a co-owner with her husband of a boat harbor, campground, and restaurant where she shared her warm hospitality with many visitors. Additionally, she excelled as a successful real estate professional, receiving numerous honors for her exceptional productivity and work ethic.

She had a variety of hobbies and interests that she enjoyed. Working in her flower gardens, crocheting, sewing, and shooting in a bow league were just a few activities that showed her creativity and adventurous side. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, float trips and even bow hunting in Montana. Sandy also loved animals and was known for her dedication to rescuing and rehoming lost or abandoned dogs.

Sandy’s infectious smile and positive, can-do attitude were characteristics that endeared her to all who knew her. She had a genuine interest in others. To her, no person was unimportant, and no task was too great if it could make a difference in someone's life. She possessed a strong belief in God, the power of love and giving her best effort in everything she did.

A Celebration of Life to honor Sandy will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville and a luncheon from noon - 3:00 pm will be held at the Wentzville American Legion Hall, lower level, to enjoy food, refreshments and share happy memories of a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Five Acres Animal Shelter, as a tribute to Sandy’s love for animals and their well-being. Sandy’s presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever remain in our hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
