Sharon McNeill Obituary

Sharon Lee McNeill passed away March 4, 2026, in Creve Coeur, MO. She was 68. She was born April 8, 1957, to Perry M. Perkinson Jr. and Rosa Lee Nichols Perkinson. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Missouri and later completed her doctorate in physical therapy at the University of South Dakota. She worked as a pediatric physical therapist throughout Missouri, spending the last 20 years of her career in the Fort Zumwalt School District.

Sharon met her husband of 47 years, Robert Iles McNeill, in college at Central Methodist University in 1976. They married two years later at Webster Hills United Methodist Church and had three daughters, Megan Rebecca, Erin Rachael, and Abigail Lee.

She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed music, knitting and sewing, baking, gardening, traveling and water skiing. She sang in the choir and played in the handbell choir at Wentzville UMC.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Carol P. Doehne; brother, Randall M. Perkinson (Grayce); sister-in-law, Nancy Perkinson; daughters, Megan McNeill, Erin Jorgensen (Lucas), and Abigail McNeill Beckler (Wyatt); aunt, Sue Ellen Teggatz; uncle, Ward H. Nichols; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and the joys of her life, her two granddaughters, Ainsley Rebecca Jorgensen and Audrey Lee Beckler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry M. Perkinson Jr. and Rosa Lee Nichols Perkinson, brother, Scott H. Perkinson, and brother-in-law, Edward “Ned” Doehne. 

Memorials can be made to the National Down Syndrome Society (ndss.org/donations) or Wentzville United Methodist Church.
