Shelton "Dude" Singer passed away on July 15, 2021 at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lee Singer nee Meyer of Wentzville, Missouri. He is survived by his two sons, Shelton A. (Debbie) Singer of Moscow Mills, MO, and Shawn (Stacy) Singer of Wentzville, MO; daughter, Maliea (Brian) Johnson of St. Paul, MO; grandchildren, Icelena, Ashley, Brandon, Jacquelyn, Cora, and Brynley; great-grandchild, Jasmine; step-grandchildren, Bobby, Kevin, Jason, and Andy; several step great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Roland Nieman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dorothy Singer nee Hill; brother, Lester "Butch" Singer; and sister, Bertha Nieman. Shelton was the most loving, giving and hard-working person you would ever meet. He would do anything for anyone at any time. He enjoyed spending time with Family & Friends. He cherished his 56 years of marriage to his wife, often sharing great memories over breakfasts in town. He was a devoted father who loved his children deeply, teaching lessons of living off the land, how to run equipment, fixing things that break, and that family always comes first. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and instilling his love of hunting, fishing and making homemade jerky. He also loved farming, tractor pulls, and talking of his rescued pet raccoon “Charlie.” Anyone who met Dude “Shelton” was welcomed as a friend, offered a cold Busch, and told “you gotta have fun in life.” He was a mechanic and operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513 since 1964. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the American Cancer Society; in care of Pitman Funeral Home, PO Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.
