With profound sadness we announce the passing of Steve Shelley, age 69, who passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2026, his wife Cindy by his side.

Steve’s love for his family and friends was epic. No one ever questioned who and how much he loved. He wore it proudly for the world to see and told everyone who would listen how much he treasured his wife Cindy, his four children, Craig, Chad, Sara and Matthew, and his nine grandchildren Dylan, Tess, Reese, Summer, Harper, Alex, Bradley, Patrick and Emma, and his many, many friends, most notably his weekly “breakfast buddies.”

Steve grew up in Steeplechase subdivision in St. Peters, Missouri with his beloved mother, Sandy, his father Jerry, and younger brothers Jeff and Chris. Though shy and reserved as a young boy, who never really liked school very much, Steve excelled in sports as a gifted athlete. There wasn’t a sport he couldn’t master, but he was most well-known as a gifted football star and track team master who, during his time there, held many records where he attended the original Fort Zumwalt High School, in O’Fallon. In addition to his love of sports, Steve was a lover of hunting and was an avid gun collector.

Raised in Missouri, Steve also lived in Illinois, Arizona, and 26 years in Texas, where his children and grandchildren still reside. He moved back to Missouri in 2022 where he lived peacefully and quietly until his passing.

Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him but will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends.
