Susan (Raney) Helmsing

Susan Raney Lindstrom Helmsing, 63, passed away on June 21, 2025 in Weldon Spring, MO. 

Born on March 6, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, Susan was the cherished daughter of Edwin and the late Gertrude “Alice” (Hensler) Raney. A graduate of Parkway North High School, Class of 1980, she maintained lifelong bonds with several classmates that stood the test of time. 

Susan built a successful and fulfilling career in sales, dedicating many years to Crown Zellerbach before retiring from Suburban Industrial Packaging. Beyond her professional life, Susan was known for her radiant personality. She delighted in hosting gatherings in her elegantly curated home, where her culinary talents and impeccable sense of décor created warmth and joy for all that entered.  Her love of travel, especially to coastal destinations, reflected her adventurous spirit and appreciation for life’s beauty. 

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Briana Jappa and Blake Jappa; husband, Edward Helmsing; her father, Edwin Raney; her sisters, Deborah Collier, Vicki Amen; her brothers, Michael (Debbie) Raney and Chris (Christina) Raney; as well as a circle of treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and step grandchildren. She also leaves behind her former partner and father of her children, Jason Jappa, and with heartfelt affection, Brenda Jappa - a constant and loving presence in Susan’s life and the lives of her children. 

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Alice Raney, and her dear niece, Jamie Lynn.
