Thomas Kotek Obituary

Thomas Kotek of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on February 9, 2025 at the age of 67. He was the beloved husband of Deborah Kotek (nee: Hopkins) of Wentzville, Missouri; He is survived by his mother, Jean Kotek (nee: Larson) of Peoria, IL; son, Ryan (Laura) Kotek of Jacksonville, FL; son, Justin (Kimberly) Kotek of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; step-daughter, Danette (Shane) Eubank of Pekin, IL; two brothers, David Kotek of Milwaukee, WI, Daniel Kotek of Milwaukee, WI; three sisters, Karen Thomas of East Peoria, IL, Jane (Thomas Dechnik) Young of Villa Park, IL, Connie Wexler of Lawrence, IN; niece, Tammy; nephew, Phillip; grandchildren, Adeline, Audrey, Cora; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Jonathan (McKinsey), Alexes; step-great grandchildren, Kenway, Cooper;  He is preceded in death by his father, Elmer Kotek.

 
Tom dedicated 35 years of his life to his role as a Service Tech Engineer at Mazak Corp, where he was known for his expertise and unwavering commitment to his work. His colleagues admired not only his skills but also his willingness to lend a helping hand. Outside of work, Tom had a passion for woodworking, and he often found solace in creating beautiful pieces that his family cherished. He loved riding his ebike and playing pickleball, where his competitive spirit shined through. Tom took great pride in his yard and transformed it into a beautiful oasis that was a testament to his hard work and dedication. Cooking and grilling brought him immense joy, and he loved entertaining family and friends, always ensuring that gatherings were filled with laughter and delicious meals. As a true handyman, Tom had the remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Traveling was another passion of Tom's; he enjoyed exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories. However, above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. They were the loves of his life, and his love for them knew no bounds. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
