Virginia "Ginger" Lee (Aspinwall) Goldfarb Obituary
Virginia "Ginger" Goldfarb (née Aspinwall) passed away on April 20, 2023at her home in O'Fallon, Missouri at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by family and fortified by the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church.
Born to Wallace and Jean Aspinwall on February 16, 1952, Ginger spent her childhood and early adulthood in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Ginger met her husband, Elliot Goldfarb, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike over the CB radio on October 24, 1976. Elliot proposed on the first date, and Ginger said yes 6 weeks later. They were married May 21, 1977. It was a match made in heaven. An avid baker, Ginger did not miss an opportunity to share her legendary chocolate chip cookies at every special occasion. When she relocated to the St. Louis area in 2003, her car was packed with cuttings of plants she dug up from her Pennsylvania garden. Many of the plants were originally planted by her parents. The plants continue to thrive in her O'Fallon, Missouri garden to this day, no doubt thanks to Ginger's "green thumb".
Ginger attended Athens College, now Athens State University, and Montgomery County College and went on to become a Dental Assistant until her children were born. She spent 15 years as an at home Mom while Elliot traveled the United States as a Sales Manager some 48 weeks a year.
One of the joys of Ginger's life was acting as a nurse's aide and caregiver. Ginger served the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at their nursing home and health care center, Camilla Hall, in Immaculata, Pennsylvania from 1998-2003. After moving to St. Louis, Ginger continued as a nurse's aide for Angels on Duty in O'Fallon, MO for 17 years until her retirement in 2022. Ginger was a companion and caregiver to countless people approaching the end of their lives in the St. Charles County, MO. area. Ginger brought joy, peace, comfort and care wherever she went during her entire life.
She is survived by her husband, Elliot, of O'Fallon, MO, her son, Rob (Sarah) Goldfarb of St. Peters, MO and her daughter, Jennifer (Fino) Cabinte of Las Vegas, NV.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Paul Catholic Church 1223 Church Road St. Paul, Mo. 63366 on May 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation time with the family at Church starting at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the cemetery adjacent to the Church immediately following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the Camilla Hall Convent Home and Healthcare Center of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 100 Maxis Drive Malvern, PA 19355-1327
