Bill Vandeven of Wentzville, MO passed away on November 19, 2021 at the age of 87.
During Bill’s lifetime many things brought him joy: his family, playing cards, good food and going fishing. His family’s property out between Cape Girardeau, MO and Jackson, MO was where his love for the tug of the line started. His later years were spent casting at Bear Creek and in his senior years in the saltwater of Florida.
As a young man, Bill, served during peace time on a Navy ship traveling up and down the east coast of the United States. Which is how he came to meet his Pennsylvania girl that became his bride.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Sue; three children, David and wife, Margie, of Foristell, MO, Doug of St. Louis and Bonnie and husband, Brian, of Houston, TX. His sister, Martha (Marti) Herring and her husband, Jack, of Florida. His sister-in-law, Doris Vandeven, wife of his deceased brother, Jim. His brother-in-law, Bob Dohogne, husband of his deceased sister, Jeanette (Nettie), of Cape Girardeau, MO. He is, also, survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
