William (Bill) R. Thompson passed away on January, 23rd 2022 at the age of 78. He was born on July 24th 1943 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Walter and Harriet (Johanson) Thompson.
William is survived by his loving wife Deanne
Thompson of Wentzville Missouri. His two Daughters; Victoria (Kevin) Young of Camarillo California, Laura (Young) Bui of Denver, Colorado, his son; Walter William Thompson of Moscow Mills, Missouri, his brother; Robert (Darla) Thompson of Ohio, sister; Barbara (Robert) Lewis of Philadelphia, five grandchildren; Eleanor Young, Johnathan Young, Penelope Thompson, Russell Van Bui and Josephine Rae Bui and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Harriet Thompson, one sister; Harriet Lazarus, two brothers; Walter Thompson and Kenneth Thompson, father-in-law; Norman File and mother-in-law; Nancy File.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Deanne for 35 years. He was a proud father and grandfather.
As a young man Bill served 4 years in the Navy aboard the USS Yorktown and USS Kittyhawk. He then gave 49 wonderful years of hard work to General Motors.
Bill had a love for many sports such as football, baseball, basketball, golf and most of all, horse racing too. Bill was an avid reader and supported education and philosophy. He was a good man and cared for people, but of all the people Bill cared for, it was his wife, children and grandchildren that were dearest to him. Nothing brought him more joy than the time spent making memories with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 31st,2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 1st,2022 at 10:00 am.
Interment will be 11:30 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
