William "Pete" Sherman of Wentzville, MO passed away on January 26, 2021 at the age of 96. He is survived by his beloved wife Genevieve "Dot" Sherman nee Niederer of 71 years; four sons, James A. (Julia) Sherman of Wright City, MO, William C. (Peg) Sherman of Wright City, MO, Gary (Sandy) Sherman of Mexico, MO, Daniel (Mindy) Sherman of Foristell, MO; three daughters, Theresa M. (Mark) Smythe of Centralia, MO, Sheila (Pat Turner) Rhodes of Thompson, MO, Gail (Mike) Orf of Troy, MO; brother, Donald (Velva) Sherman of Marthasville, MO; sister, Marcella Daub of Kirkwood, MO; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Etta Sherman of Troy, MO, Marilyn Sherman of Washington, MO.
Pete was a member of St. Theodore Church in Flint Hill, MO., the American Legion Post 323 of Wentzville, MO, and a member of the Flint Hill Park Board. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a self-employed plumber for over 40 years. Pete enjoyed dancing, music, farming, and traveling, and attending area picnics. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Sherman, mother, Pearl Sherman nee Mumma, brothers, Harold Sherman and Russel Sherman, sister, Margie Sudbrock, son-in-law, Dennis Rhodes, brothers-in-law, John Daub and Harold Sudbrock, half-brother, John Sherman, half-sisters, Della Cozad, Virginia Block, and Margaret Matter.

The family has requested all attendees wear a mask and practice safe social distancing during the visitation.
Mass will be private for immediate Sherman family only.
All attendees are welcome to join the Sherman family at the graveside committal following Mass.
